Di2, budget £2500 max

Its nearing Spring (well sometime soon.....) and my attentions have turned to upgrading from my current Boardman Team Carbon (SRAM Rival).
As i live near Ribble i've been in to have a look at the R872, looks really nice in the flesh and the one in the showroom had Di2 and Deda Zero 100 bars/stem/post which i'd specced beforehand anyway. Price is £2290 with a cheap wheelset (i have some American Classics which i'd use or i might buy a set of Chinese carbon tubulars), so wheelset is not overly important.
What other bikes are £2500 or less with Di2 that i should consider (£2500 assumes i will will sell the wheelset to bring the price near to the R872)? I've been having a look about but cant find much to be honest!

Canyon / focus. Can't see that ribble being an upgrade from your Boardman.0

You can get a Di2 Ridley Excalibur for £2k Pearson advertise it online, but I also know my LBS do it also, would leave £500 for a better set of wheels or many beer tokens.

Gotta be worth a look at that money I'd say!0 -

Yea thanks, cant say i'm overly fond of that though. :?
Also found a Dolan :- http://www.dolan-bikes.com/road-bikes/C ... uct_id=380Cheers, Stu0 -
My Rose Xeon 3100 CRS was a 2012 model and came in under £2k but I think this year's are about £2,200 or so.
Lovely bike and don't seem to have the waiting time of a Canyon. But I also accept they have quite the same cache that comes with providing bikes for a pro team.
Obviously you could go and sit on a Focus too and make sure you get the right size. With Rose you do get Ksyrium Elites which are lovely wheels.
I'd really think about whether you want Di2. I like mine (Ultegra) but it feels like a luxury and isn't that much better than my 6600 groupset on my commuter. Maybe front shifts are the big improvement.
I went for it because on the sale model, it wasn't really that much more expensive. But I'd have been equally as happy with mechanical.
My advice to anybody buying a bike is this: Get what you want because it will make you happy. I don't think you'll regret getting Di2 in the slightest but I wouldn't compromise on other stuff for it.0 -
Yes you are maybe right, Chorus on the Ribble saves nearly £400.
I'd want that if I wasn't getting Di2.The Canyon CF would be an option then as that's £2269.Cheers, Stu0 -

The Canyon Al Di2 is £2k if you want to have something better performing than the Boardman.0 -
Wiggle had a felt on offer last week?0

Since you live near Ribble, you also live near Terry Dolan. Great bikes, and with U Di2, several in your price range. You won't get better customer service anywhere. I'm on my 4th Dolan. What's good enough for Wiggo is certainly good enough for me.0

Aye not that far from Dolan (i'm south of Preston), tbh i'm not overly keen on the paint jobs on the frames (An Post SL) but i might take a trip down and have a look. Prices look decent enough, SRAM Red option for £2k looks interesting.Cheers, Stu0

This is right on the nose - good frame, excellent wheels, Di2 and interest free credit should you want it:

That cannondale deal looks too good to be true! Can't imagine you'll fine better than that for the price.0

Aye looks good but i'd be more in a 52cm looking at the geo and they only have a 54cm.Cheers, Stu0

Gutted. Better getting the fit right than chasing a bargain.0

I've got one of these and love it, you can still find a few floating about.

Wiggle have a Focus but think it may be a bit bigger than what you're looking for. Great price though.

Merlin are based in Chorley - that can't be far from you, so it must be worth visiting them to look at the above.

Scott Foil 15 2012 still a few about, best I've seen is £2.8k though. But so worth the extra, been lusting after one for a while!0
