So im now looking to alternatives in case there never is any new stock :( .

Also with this new fork, will i need to install a different kind of headset to support it? or can i use current style one.(1 1/8" threadless. crane creek headset as standard rockhopper)

Lol. Just taken mine off my bike. Your better off getting the Maxlight 450 from Germany. These have a better axle to crown height of 45cm as the british versions are rather short, forcing you to use a lot more spacers on the stem. The bottom of the steerer is also too narrow for most mountain bikes and lets water straight up into the bottom of the headset, ruining the bearings. The 450's on the other hand raise the front up 2cm higher, giving a more accurate 100mm suspension fork geometry and have a wider crown race base that better suits most MTB frames.

For similar reasons, if your considering the mosso forks, get the 2013 version and not the 2011 version.
  • The 450s might be "better" but the cost increase with shipping costs is going to be a hell of a lot more than the original maxlight..

    when you include
    fork,
    headset
workshop costs for fitting headset ect.

Dont really want this to go too near £200 tbh..

Then go with the cheaper Mosso 2013 or the Exotic forks (dependant on tyre size... anything below 1.6" looks silly with thick stanchions).

And you don't need to change headsets for a new fork. Just take the crown race off the old fork and put it on the new fork (or just buy a new crown race for a fiver).
