Anyone know of any good, reasonable bike insurance policies out there? Looking for theft and accidental damage cover. I tried www.cyclosure.co.uk but the premium seemed very high. Any guidance, especially from past experience would be appreciate.
Thanks

I got a quote yesterday through Staysure with Aviva to cover buildings, contents and Cannondale Evo for £340. It covers accidental damage and theft anywhere in the UK on a new for old basis. That is pretty good I think.

Sounds good, think I'll be calling my home and contents provider tomorrow to discuss. Cheers

What's the value of the bike, if you don't mind me asking ?

I'd be checking the clauses that apply to it though Re security at home if I were you, plus any restrictions on use that might apply. Not having a go just trying to be helpful as you don't want to find out after you need to make a claim that you were refused for not meeting some criteria.

From my investigations these guys have the best cover and are good value:

    https://www.eta.co.uk/insurance/cycle/

IMO cheap insurance isn't generally worth it, if you decide you need to insure then you may as well get insurance that is worth having...

Tried their website, but insurance at nearly £300 on a £3k bike seems bloody high to me. Can't ever imagine paying a premium of £2.5k on a £25k car. Perhaps I'm comparing apples with oranges............ :?

£300 on a £3k bike sounds pretty good to me (without knowing the small print) - I've had specialist cycle insurance companies quoting £200 for my £750 bike.

Fair enough, but I suspect the uptake of bike insurance is pretty poor as a result of these high premiums.
I may live to regret it, but I guess i'll take my chances.......

Bike was valued at £3500. Seems to be ok as it is with a reputable company. I understand Dansliesbikes concerns but the only stipulation they put on it was that it would be locked.
