How about getting one of these?

Perfect colour scheme. also a great frame and with a fizik saddle, full force groupset and racing5s to flog to offset the cost if you like.

Focus don't sell frames do they? Just complete bikes as far as I am aware. Never ever seen a frame for sale in Germany on its own or with a fork.

True, but we don't all put a post on here asking which one to get just because of the colour. :?

OP - Find a bike you like and then see what colours it comes in. Buying a bike just because it is the right colour is not sensible.

The thing that clinched it for my Basso purchase was that the colour was totally in keeping with my club kit, but i did not start my search on that basis. The bike is important - if all else fails get it in black or white and then it goes with anything.

  • sorry for asking, but if someone wanted a red ferrari why would they buy a yellow one

They wouldn't. How is that even relevant?

My point is that you should choose a frame for lots of reasons before colour.

So before any one posts they should run it past you to see if its acceptable. If people want to ask a question surely they have every right to do so with out ridicule.
I think the colour is very important, you gotta like your ride.
You didnt buy on colour but got a bike to match your club kit.oh dear.

Of course not - but he asked the same thing 6 weeks ago.

I agree colour is a consideration but it is not THE consideration.

Yes I bought a bike in a certain colour scheme but as I already said that was not how I narrowed down what I was looking for - it simply made the final choice between my final two bikes easy.

Anyway, what have you added to the posting? All you do is fined fault with what I post. Move on.

I havn,t found fault with any other post you,ve made so take a chill pill. Also I added to the post that colour is important, as you said TWICE now you decided on your bike on COLOUR, then knock some one for wanting a bike they like the colour of.
Also its obvious you put effort in your replies as to bother to find posts made six weeks ago just so you can ridicule the OP.Your comittment is truly an inspiration.

I think the issue is smidsy is quite correct in saying the choice of frame is more important to which you then add or look for colour. Good example above about Ferrari, of course it must be red, just like gallardo in yello and aventador in Matt black.
My comment earlier was a throw away one as even though the colour of my bike matched quite closely to the colour of my car, it also matched in
Looks which is what originally suited me hence waiting 4 months for it to be built and shipped.

So, best option is to find the kind of frame you like, maybe short list 3-4 and then check if colour options are available and then finalise your choice.

Then, when all is done and the bike is at home you may find that just like your dream car, you leave it in the garage and decide to ride the cheap 300 quid decathlon bike as it feels nicer to ride :)

The car analogy isn't that good because the point is that the choice is there. A better analogy would be - I'd like an orange car but Ferrari don't do orange so I'll get a Ford Focus ST instead.

Besides, if the OP keeps forgetting he's already asked the question on the forum, maybe he'll also forget that he likes red and white bikes!

I can accept that. You can get a frame painted though, if you liked it enough although I wouldn't personally do that.

In the above example they have already decided on the car (Ferrari).

You are asking for a red and white frame. That is like asking for a red car. You can have anything from a MPV to a Supercar to a 4x4 etc.

You need to know what type of frame you want first (compact race, CX, touring, audax etc) that is all I am saying.

Once we know what type of riding/geometry, we may actually be able to offer meaningful suggestions.

In a slightly tangential point, I find myself irritated by Cannondale's consistent inability to offer their more attractive colourways as a frame-only option, in the builds I want, or indeed for sale in the UK and Ireland at all.

I've the heart set on a CAAD10 105 once I've the cash scraped up, but I'd be so much happier with the black/raw available every else in the whole bloody world. And then there's the US Rival build in Black and Yellow, The Blue Rival Supersix, and the BBQ Black Supersix 105. I realise it's probably just being a tart, but an option for those not keen on the team paint that isn't "trawl ebay with fingers crossed" or "Import it and feck the LBS" would be nice.
