Looks a great bike, I rate decathlon quite highly and you have a great warranty on all products which is fab.Living MY dream.0

Yeah the 7a looks a cracking bike for the money. Phoning the Edinburgh store tomorrow to see if they have them in stock, If so then a trip to Edinburgh is on the cards for Saturday.0
-
Have they now fitted an alum (or steel) fork to the Triban3 in order to cut the price?0
-
Looks like it. The range does not look as good vfm now, although it is wider and batting at a higher level maybe0
-
The original Triban 3 with the carbon fork will still be available in the UK for £300 though. A guy in the Belfast store doubts they'll stock many 3As.0

agree, there were loads of T3s in my local one last week0

From what I can fathom, it's now called the Triban 3 "red".B'TWIN Triban 5A

for next winter i am going to grab me one of those triban 3`s, amazing value for money2012 Cannondale CAAD 8 1050

Does anyone know when these are actually out? In London and looking to get myself a Triban 5A or 7A instead of the usual suspects of an Allez or Defy....0
-
Not really. I've found similar with so many things in life that I just take it in the chin. Old sofa being comfier than new, new car being so harsh to drive that it's done a few dozen miles and now lives in the garage, old clothes being better than new etc. the list goes on.Living MY dream.0

Odd description they give their bikes - suitable for rides of 'up to 3 hours' - what happens after that? Do the wheels fall off?0
-
The new Triban 5 looks really good value for money but the current Triban 3 is still a damn good deal.0

I am counting off the days for when my M6 J9 store get stock!!! I want the 7A. They said mid March before they get the new stock. My first road bike been riding a Rockrider for 2 years now and it's been great! Just not the thing for club runs so rather the devil you know than the unknown. Face it I have been to Leisure Lake store and Evans Cycles and others, they charge $700 and up for a bike with full Sora, carbon forks, descent wheels and brakes. They cant match Decathlon worse now with the Triban 7A!Ride Safe! Keep Safe!

Its a pity they all have low quality wheels, but I suppose that all entry level bikes do.0

By "low quality", what does that actually mean? Weak, heavy, bendy etc?
I would expect the wheels not to be up there with the best in this price range but what exactly are the elements of low quality wheels- these BTWIN ones in particular?
My question is genuine, as I intend to buy one of these & I have a concern- the roads I ride on are terrible, and the roads I have to ride on to get to these terrible ones are even worse!! Would these wheels be up to the job? I would expect them to be heavy but would hope they were at least strong as a pay-off.B'TWIN Triban 5A

They had the wheel weights on the website, and while they dont seem particularly light I think they compare well against other OEM wheels dont they?0

I think that there are a lot of bikes in the £800+ range that have seriously poor wheels.... giant defy....
I reckon that the 5a is the one to go for, a better chainset and decent wheels as/when the stock ones die, 600 quid for the 7a is verging into canyon roadlite territory"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

Hi I saw one of the new bikes at my Decathlon store on Friday. It really looks cool I think it was the new 3. It had micro shifters instead of the standard shifters found on the 2300. It looked really good. The 5A is the best for value.Ride Safe! Keep Safe!

The 7A may have magical properties. Apparently it has a cassette that "allows less powerful cyclists to effortlessly tackle difficult routes." 8)0

I was looking at these briefly, specifically the 5a as a winter bike and all year round commuter until i priced up building something....
Dolan preffisio frame 100
Ribble shop soiled carbon forks 30
Full Sora 3500 group 210
Shimano R500 wheels 70
Tyres 30
Finishing kit 60ish
Total 500 give or take a few quid
Ive already got a full finishing kit in the shed so it'll only cost a about 450 plus 20 for sks mudguards.....likely to be a better bike than the Triban and it has a full Sora group and decent budget wheels plus im looking forward to building it up myself and having something personal to me
Im also not a fan of the triple on the triban...each to their own though0 -

I was in Decathlon during the weekend and saw one of the new 5A's in the flesh. The black colour scheme looked very nice (even though the blue was a little too 'Team Sky' for my liking!) and it seemed to be good quality overall, though a little heavier than its rivals. I'll try to attach some photos as I know pics are still a little limited.
Its a shame they didnt have the 7A to look at. Having seen the 5A Im now thinking that the Tiagra double with carbon chain stays for £600 is a deal well worth a second look. I made some rough geometry measures with a borrowed tape measure from the mechanics, so if anyone is interested let me know."There's only one way to get rid of Sagan and that's literally to kill him." -David Harmon, Eurosport, Ronde van Vlaanderen.0 -
Looks like these bikes are in stock now as their website is showing them for sale.
Strangely, the FC3 has disappeared. Looked like a superb carbon bike for £849 too.B'TWIN Triban 5A

The had an FC3 in the Warrington Store last night. Lovely looking bike for the cash.
Had a little go (in store) of the Triban 7a. too big for me unfortunately, but a lovely bike. although there are mudguard eyelets, there is bugger-all clearance, front or rear to get anything other than RoadRacers in IMO.0 -
Hi, I'm from Spain. Here these models aren't available anywhere (in physical stores), so I had to order it online. I chose triban 5A, it looks pretty good, we will see how it works when it arrives here. Sorry for my english0

had my eye on the fc3 mentioned earlier, can still get them BUT
the triban7a at 600 with a set of aksiums at 145 from the same store becomes quite a buyable proposal0
