I've got a lazer o2, bought solely to get the aeroshell for it ahead of racing this year, and can I find one anywhere?

Nope. No-one seems to stock them and saddleback don't seem to list them for 2013.

Anyone happen to see one around anywhere?

  • Sorry no, I quite liked the look of the idea and was surprised it was not listed on the link for the site that was advertising it.

You know it's banned in all UCI competitions? Of course you may not be racing those...

Cheers Jim, sadly I'm nowhere near any sort of uci racing. The best I'll get is a strava pb round richmond park that you'd take apart on a gentle evening ride!

Just brought the same helmet [awaiting delivery from Wiggle], skip the above to 1:50 - appears the shell will cover a number of different Lazer helmets.

Couple of sellers on eBay who advertise theirs as being compatable with the Helium helmet, and have asked if it will work on the 02 also - will post their reply and link if it does, both have stock so their should be enough for both of us! :D

Helium is a different shape to O2 so doubt it will work. Try searching online for European sellers - Saddleback are pretty useless at actually bringing in full ranges from makers, and then charging a hefty mark up.

I've got a shout out direct with Lazer, so hopefully will get at least an answer from them. If not, I'll have to buy a helium or genesis!

Helium is now discontinued so some good deals about. Latest Lazer prices are a pi$$-take, obviously since Saddleback have taken over UK distribution from Bob Elliot.

Reply from Chain Reation on the 02 Aeroshell:

    Hi Neil,
    Thanks for your email.
We currently do not have any stock left.
We are expecting more but we do not have a date from the supplier as yet so we have withdrawn the buy button from the website to avoid any problems.

If there is anything else we can do please feel free to get in touch.
    Thanks,
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • I think my lbs had some shells in. I thought I saw one or 2 when I bought my O2. They are Pro-Bikes in Hucknall, may be worth giving them a ring to see if they have any and are willing to ship them (presuming you don't live close enough to Notts to fetch it)
