What exactly do you mean? Try to narrow it down a bit.

Are you wanting the name of the company which imports the greatest number of carbon wheels into the UK per annum? If so, good luck finding out and why would you want to know?

My guess if you're after the most popular, best selling brand. In which case, probably Zipp, Enve, Reynolds or Planet-X all for various reasons.

Im looking at a set, I was going to buy a pair of the planet x but I dont like the stickers on them and they dont have stock of any without so was looking for a similar quality brand.
Planet x offer great value though so any like these really.

Ok, Planet-X are just China stuff with a warranty.

They don't really have direct competitors 'cos there's nothing really to compete on. They are the best price, save for buying from China directly, so you're probably best just to wait. I would have thought they will get stock eventually.

If not, try Fuerte Bici although they have some really garish decals which I don't think you can peel off, like Planet-X. The best China direct people are probably Xiamen Far Sports.

This is all assuming you're on about the full carbon tubulars, not the Alu rims with a carbon fairing (which I bet it will be). If the Alu/Carbon ones then the market for those is severely limited ('cos they're a crap compromise) - Mavic, Campagnolo/Fulcrum or FFWD or ZIPP.

Only Mavic and Campag/Fulcrum do anything even remotely close to the price of Planet-X.

It's what your turbo trainer is crying out for.

If you want all black Gigantex wheels and are willing to pay more than Planet-X for hand built carbon wheels then you go to Wheelsmith.

Without trying to start a flame war – by your own admission you can hardly handle a road bike at the moment hence your need to stay on the turbo trainer (which still amazes me). I STRONGLY advise you not to attach a set of carbon sails to your road bike until you have at least mastered some form of control on aluminium shallow rims. Getting blown under a van for the sake of posing or keeping up with the Joneses is not a good move.

LOL this is excellent. My suspicions (no, hopes) of this guy potentially being the next SpeedKing or steelem are slowly being realised.

I did 110km whilst in the USA last week and that was after around 4o in the UK.
It amazes me how you guys bitch and moan like fishwives, if I want to but carbon rims wether for my road or turbo it's up to me. Just like cars, many if you would say a mondeo is good enough but that doesn't mean I drive one.

Anyway, EKIMIKE, I went with your info and bought some Matt carbons wih Chris King hubs and titanium clips.

I think some of the pro-lite range are much the same as planet x, maybe a little extra brand tax.

I work in km hence the use of km in ALL of my writing. (Habit)

The way you write your negative comments suggest you would think I'm bragging about doing a few km, that's a strange thing as I'm on a cycle forum, a forum for cyclists so for any of you to have that is laughable, I'm on the first rung if the ladder but I'm climbing, that's all that matters.

It just wears thin after a while. At the end of the day it's up to me, if I want to use the turbo rather than road that's fine, just like if I want to buy whatever takes my fancy, after all its good for economy.
I realise that people's sense of humour here is different to anywhere else on the planet that I've visited but even having done as the guys here cry about it still doesn't seem enough. It's just wierd and freaky.

I've uploaded a few to strava depending on where/when in cycling although I have also written down a "rough" idea of my distances covered.

I think the confusion comes when a person's post count on this forum excedes their total kilometers on the road. They think, perhaps, that said individual enjoys the sport of buying cycling equipment more than they enjoy the sport of cycling itself.

Yup I always recommend titanium clips. Hang on a minute... did I actually recommend any of that?

Not to me, no. I'm very non-judgmental and if that floats your boat then go for it. It is, however, quite unusual and I suspect many people don't understand the mentality which is why you get the comments that you do.

That's understandable but would those many people make such a fuss ?
My garage has cars in it that I don't drive. I have them as I want them and that's my choice. Same as cycling although at least with that I'm doing around 20km/day.
Ok I'm not TT spec but that wasn't my priority, my priority was to lose weight and get fit and its going to plan.

I have no need to flex nuts bro. I was simply pointing out, albeit subtly, that you're going about this cycling thing wrong. You've made the fact that you have more money than sense painfully apparent on a forum where the real talking is done by ones legs. Félicitation.

I bought a set of wheels. Big deal. If that's the level of your whole argument then pity you.
