I'm going to see this later:

Going to use it for commuting, possibly a SS/fixie conversion at some point.
From the photos it looks in great condition. 531 frame, Mavic rims.
Probably offer him £100 and take it from there. Does it seem a decent bike for the money?

It could be a good buy and probably worth the money if it's in working order. Check how freely the axles turn (remove the wheel to tell), if it rough it could mean problems inside. Also check for rim wear. Everything else is cheap to sort out.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Worth £120 any day of the week. Even if it does need a bit of minor fettling, it's very obviously almost new - look at the teeth on the chainrings! I wouldn't spoil it by converting it to SS though. It's not as though SS has any real advantage over dt shifted geared bikes anyway. Mind you, it deserves a better fate than as a commuter tooFaster than a tent.......0

She's mine! £100, bargain.
Two tiny rust spots on the lugs, two other tiny chips on the frame. Otherwise perfect after a good clean.
Hubs seem fine. Front wheel needs trued. Mavic 190FB rims - these are pretty good yeah?
Cranks feel quite heavy to turn. No noise from the BB though. Maybe the chain just needs cleaned/replaced?
Tyres are crap but I have Gatorskins to put on. I've a set of SKS guards as well. I'll definitely use it for more than commuting.
Guy said he bought it, rode it for 6 months and it's been in the garage for 30 odd years since.
Thanks for the advice.0
