extension bars? worth a purchase?

hi,

ive been looking at extension bars for my road bike but im just wondering if they are worth a purchase. im only considering them as i get unbelivable cramp in my left hand when riding distances and thought that with me resting on my arms with these i would have a more comfortable ride that would possibly add a bit more mph to my riding.


any thoughts?

I'm not sure about them being more comfortable though!

how long have you been riding?

if you're realatively new to it then it may simply be technique - if you grip the bars too tight or put weight on your hands, it can get very painful

if that's the case, try staying relaxed with a light grip and change hand position every now and then
