I know there's a few threads about saddle/ seat bags
But which is the smallest one that can hold 2 inner tubes, tyre levers and maybe a small multi tool?

Otherwise I'm tempted by the BBB storage can/bottle which goes in a bottle cage

  • If you suck the air out of the tubes and fold them tight, you can fit two in any bag

I bought a great triangular bag today from decathlon. I like it but you have to size up the abuse v use scenario as its not the done thing in the cycling world.

    Thanks all
I picked up two inner tubes thought I'll gauge size by putting the boxes in the bag but wouldn't fit in smaller ones, but true about sucking air out of them
Also plan to put in sandwich bags for ease

Lightweight tubes fold up smaller e.g. Michelin Aircomp Ultralight.

Stick both of them in your jersey back pocket or tape one at the back of the saddle/seatpost

The Ortlieb Micro might do the job.

Well made, waterproof and very small.

If you are fitting one of these things, why not get a slightly bigger one that you can chuck a wallet and mars bar into too?

I went for the medium and I have one spare tube, 2 tyre levers and a multi-tool. There is enough spare room to get another tube in there though. And it's pretty small, looks great too.

I use a topeak micro and store 2 tubes, 2 allen keys(never needed a mini tool), puncture repair kit, £10 note, 1 tyre lever and an emergency energy gel. There is a little bit of space for extra tools but they might damage a tube.

    Lezyne, will check it out
Wanted small as wanted to keep some room if possible for my rear light which attaches to seat post

That fizik small will fit 2 tubes & levers, no room for a multitool though. Most bags come with a clip or a loop for attaching your light to, instead of needing to fix it to the seatpost.

If you put your tubes into plastic sandwich bags - they slide into place much more easily.

My bag packing skills must be lacking, then again I only carry 1 tube, fairly chunky multitool, levers & patches, tried a 2nd tube and it wasn't a happy bunny.

Arundel dual seat bag is the only one I have found that doesnt rub on my shorts – its narrow. It also has a leather pad to prevent the inevitable hole caused by the back of the seat clamp.
The Fizik clip on one is really good too but you need a Fizik saddle. The neoprene straps on the Lezyne bags rip after a season and the one that takes 2 tubes is too wide imo.

Forgot the quick-link, 2 small zip ties and a red elastic band! It is a very tight squeeze though, an the zip is in danger of splitting.

One comment about them. I originally had the clip-in version, but though it looked shoot and shook around like a shaky thing. Use a velcro one now and think it's much neater.

My Specialized Dirt Bag broke on last Sunday's club run so as a "temporary measure" I clipped an old Barbieri Micro saddle bag which I used to use on a TT bike onto my saddle rails on the winter trainer. And I found it even had space for two tubes, tyre levers and fold-up allen keys. Check it out here:
