Anyone tried both the standard Gamma version and the Carbon based version? I'm not talking about the top of the range carbon railed version but the one with the carbon base and Kium rails.

Any difference in comfort on long rides? I've been testing the Gamma version and it's a good fit for me but just want to know if there is any benefit in spending the extra cash on the carbon based version?

I don't think there is a massive difference in comfort between the two - I think the difference is more down to weight, the standard Aliante is pretty hefty to someone interested in the weight of their bike, but saying that there is only 60g difference!

I've had all 3. Only difference is weight. And even then there's not that much difference. Still have the full carbon one on my best bike. Need to get a basic one for my winter bike but can't be bothered as the selle italia on it is pretty good.
