Hi all

I have been doing some research and some test riding with a view to get a new steed in the next couple of weeks. I am looking for a 29er hard tail for mainly XC and general trail riding that is under £850. I generally ride in the South Downs area.

I have narrowed it down to 2 options:

1) Trek Cobia 2013

2) Whyte 529 2013

http://www.cyclesurgery.com/whyte-529-2 ... duct/45677

Both are excellent to ride, however I wondered whether there was anything else out there that I should be considering at this price range.

I have heard good things about the Canyon Yellowstones but I don't know the brand that well.

Any thoughts would be welcome.
Trek Domane 4.3 2014
Whyte 529 2013

i bought it with the intension of using it as an insentive to get back on the bike quicker after a knee op , i was supposed to be having a medial ligament trim but now i'm having a full acl reconstruction as well which is quite a bit longer recovery , just can't justify it sitting in the house all that time unused really :)
