double seat clamp as carbon paste alternative?
Hello everyone...
doing some upgrades on my cannondale supersix and have purchased a carbon seatpost...Now i know that i should use carbon paste so that the post won't slip, so how about this double seat post clamp?? http://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;n ... duct=32618
has anyone got it or something similar to it? waste of money or worth considering??
cheers guys!!

why dont you want to use carbon paste? Its probably cheaper than a seat post clamp0

can be good in that you can remove the post and replace it exactly at the same height.
(dont undo the top clamp)."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Carbon paste is not essential it simply means you can achieve the same level of grip for less torque.
Insert it dry and torque it up as per recommendations and if it stays put then job done.
I have mine in dry and its fine.Yellow is the new Black.0 -
I got a free small clamp with a recent carbon post, and wondered what it was for - it must be for a similar purpose to this.0

Though my Ribble has a little plastic collar that serves the same purpose for less weight and more subtlety!
I got a little plastic collar with my seatpost too. It does the job well. I also follow recommendations to use the seat clamp the other way around to prevent braking the seat post.0 -
I'm completely baffled as to why you wouldn't just use carbon paste :?:0
