Just bought a new frame (Scott Foil) and treated myself to some Ultegra Di2 parts-shifters and front and rear mech. Already have chain set, brakes and cassettes, but can anyone advise on which cables I need and where the best deals are?

Cheers in advance

  • I know slane cycles had some good prices when I was searching recently but none of it is cheap I'm afraid, bit of a rip off as its the plug you need. Great frame by the way I have the addict.

I'd probably look at some of the german cycling sites, they may offer a cheaper deal

Yeah, I've used bike discount before and really rate them, looking pretty much the best price again.

To clarify, apart from FD, RD and shifters, is it just the cables, control box, battery and charger and mount that I need?
  • If you are changing just the shifting kit you will need the following:

    Shifters
    Front mech
    Rear mech
    Battery
Cables ( control box is built in )
    Charger and lead
    Battery mount

Be careful when ordering the cables though. If they are internal then you need the frame length as there are quite a few different cable lengths to buy for different sized frames. So it might be worth measuring up the frame first.
Also, you might need blanking plates or rubber grommets if it is internal, this is for the down tube where the cable enter the frame. You may not need them though depending on whats on the Foil.
