New Cheaper Triban 3 and 5 on their way...Should I wait?

Was about to buy a Triban 3 (late to the party) and was told by my local Decathlon (Coventry) they are being replaced soon.
Looking at the new bikes, I am tempted wait for the new Triban 5 (£399 with 2013 Sora) - what does everyone think? Is the £100 extra worth it to get 2013 Sora etc??????
Really tempted to wait - apparently they will be in shops by mid-March; just in time for a nice Spring ride...

The new Triban 3 looks like a downgrade from current:

Should I wait or just buy the current Triban 3 now?
I also have a sizing question... The current Triban 3 I tried felt good - I'm 5'11 and I tried a 57 in the shop, the assistant then told me to try a 60 but they only had that in the Triban 5 (he wasn't trying to up-sell) and the 60 felt better.
After reading the forums the 60 sounds like it should be way too big...! Could I be too used to a Hybrid?
Thanks in anticipation of many views / opinions (all valued).

I've got the current T3 and I'm very pleased with it. It's a great bike and equal to other makes twice the price.
I didn't know that they were bringing out a new version, but if you wait until it becomes available, there might be a few quid reduced on the current model. Plus you could compare the two close together.
But like everyone will tell you, it's how the bike feels when you ride it that is the most important thing.
Good luck0 -
Thanks, I like the feel of the Triban 3 just want some advice on whether everyone thinks the new Triban 5 looks better value - I don't know enough about the different specs of components etc.
Was expecting more responses...0 -
The Triban 3 has a mostly Shimano 2300 groupset (with a Sora front derailler)
The Triban 5 has a full Sora groupset. Slightly lighter, but not much different, from what I've read.
Not enough difference to spend the extra £100 IMO, especially seeing as the new T5 will not have carbon seatstays like the old.
And by the way, the current Triban 3 (with the carbon fork) will still be available in the UK as the Triban 3 "UK" for £300. The new Triban 3 will be £20 cheaper but will have a steel fork. The guy I spoke to in the Belfast store doubts they'll stock very many £280 models.0 -
2013 Sora looks like last years Tiagra which means you lose Shimano's awful (my opinion) take on the thumb shifter0

That's what I thought, the shifters on the Triban 3 felt very cheap and looked really awkward - I haven't had a road bike for many years and I was shocked at how cheap they looked. I remember buying my first indexed gears to fit to my Peugeot (shifters on the downtube) and in all honesty I would prefer them back compared to what's on the Triban 3.0

2300 shifters are fine..0
