Guilty of long term lurking so thought I would share my new build. I love the way it looks and realise I am very lucky to have it! This will be my motivation to get out in the rain and sludge and get some serious miles in this year.
I've had loads of useful information from this site over the years and the classifeds have been a goldmine for parts.

Brief history of bikes over the last few years - 2006 Specialized Enduro, 456C, Ragley Mmmbop then this....
I really enjoyed the hardtails, but feel its time to get back to some bounce.

Frame was a bargain - the chaps at Freeborn in Horsham were a pleasure to deal with.

Other info: Next bits to change are a 27.2 Hilo dropper. Go tubeless (when I can settle on tyres that I am happy to stick with, am a serial tyre swapper) will go for Pro 2's on Flows most likely. Maybe swap the bars stem for easton havens, purely aesthetic reasons!
Maybe a custom tune for the rear shock when Ive got used to the frame.
A skills day to make the most of it!

Comments and ideas are very welcome.

  • Lovely bike,

My only advise with the direction your going for next bits, is avoid the pro 2, most people i know have snapped the flanges repeatedly.
  • I haven't snapped the flanges once on my pro2s.

Seriously, if they had a failure rate of "most owners", they wouldn't sell any. Ever.

Hence why I commented "I know". I know several people who have owned pro2 and snapped the flanges on them. my house mate cracked 3 in a year and half.

I broke a pro2 rear hub Flange but I have also broke a flange on a Hadley hub and a Superstar hub.
Pro2's are very popular so you would hear of more of them breaking than other hubs.
