I need your advise!
Currently I am on the lookout for a new road bike as I had recently a bicycle accident and my previous bike got damaged. Besides a broken collarbone and some bruises I am okay. At the moment a lawyer is attending the legal issues of this matter, so I have to wait for a final settlement.
Anyway, I was looking ahead and checking different bikes, and as Canyon's are not very common in the Barcelona Spain region I decided to go for a Canyon. Also due to their prices as per internet sales.
First I had in mind to choose between a Ultimate Al 9.0 DI2 Ultegra and an Ultimate CF 9.0 pro Chorus as there was only €100 difference between an aluminum and a full carbon frame. But then I was checking and the Ultimate CF SLX 7.0 Ultegra is €400 more for a superior frame and, in my opinion, nice looks, better wheels and I do not have to buy a new black saddle and bar tape as I want the bike in black.
Anyway, I would like to know your motivations for buying which bike?, and also regarding the PPS tool for sizing on the Canyon website, is it reliable? After filling in the sizes table (some approx. as I am still wearing a brace around my shoulders) it gave me a 60cm frame size for the CF SLX.
I had a 60cm frame road bike with a short 60mm stem (as the 100mm stem gave me back problems) and a 59cm Bianchi pista steel track bike with a 90mm stem. Sometimes I had the feeling that I liked the Bianchi better for it's geometry, but it's a different kind of bike.
If the budget allows it I go without thinking for the CF SLX Ultegra (I do not care much for electronic shifting btw, so no need to go for one step higher), but still I would appreciate your opinions and motivations for buying which of the 3 bikes?
Thanks!

Not sure why you've set yourself for Campag on the CF and Shimano on the SLX, but I'll assume that you're flexible about your groupset manufacturer as a result.
There's about a 800 euro price difference between the CF 9.0 (Ultegra) and the SLX 7.0 (Ultegra), this saves you about 250 grams.
You can have the CF now in nearly every size, or wait about 8 weeks for the SLX. The SLX is a bit lighter, but for a given frame size has a shorter top tube and shorter head tube, so the fit will be somewhat different too - tending to be more dropped at the front.
If you've had back problems I suspect the SLX might be the worse choice, or put another way, you might end up with a big stack of spacers and a +6 degree stem. You should get the advice of a bike fitter to see what kind of setup you need.
How much does the weight matter, how impatient are you to get the bike, and which is going to fit you best? That's what I think you should be considering.0 -

If thats important then go for the SLX 9.0 Pro as the black bar tape & saddle must match the black exalith rims.0 -

My Bianchi track bike is a 59cm and my Jan Janssen road bike was a 60cm. I have compared the geometry sizes, and I am waiting for the geometry table from my Jan Janssen (I have sent them an email as no info is available online for this older bike).
Which size would be "better"? The SLX L 59cm or an SLX XL 60cm? With the 59cm the seat tube is shorter, but this can be adjusted with putting the seat up, and the reach with a longer stem.
The main problem is with Canyon that they do not sell in stores and Koblenz is too far away for me.ShutUpLegs wrote:jsprbcn wrote:ShutUpLegs wrote:Best value looks the AL with Sram Force and Ksyrium elites0 -
You can get the CF with Ultegra, you know. It's the CF 9.0
The CF 9.0 Pro is Campag.
There's no other differences between those models. Same frame, same wheels.0 -

What about buying the CF SLX frame under the sponsorship scheme and building to your own spec.0

I am just an amateur that loves cycling, so sponsorship is not really going to work I guess :oops:0

Get the bike you'll love the most. Any of them will be good. I have the CF 9.0 and it's great.0

Just show them a valid racing licence and discount is about €4000 -
