What are the options, lower cost places or even second hand?
What do I need to budget for as pricing up how much I might save if I got a used edge 500

I bagged a couple of GSC10's off of Amazon for £25 each before Christmas, sadly up around £30 now.

Looks like the straps are pretty expensive, so I would keep an eye on ebay to see if any crop up on there.

Alternatively, you could look at a Decathlon cadence sensor which I believe is around the £20 mark, though not seen it myself - it is ANT compatible.

I just bought a 500 from CRC, and went for the base unit as I had the other 2 bits - otherwise it would have been cheaper to get a bundle.

Amazon now sell the Edge 500 for £129.99 on it's own or £188.99 (Burrows via Amazon) as a bundle with the heart rate monitor and cadence sensor......

Second hand prices for the unit on it's own still seem very high on eBay (often more than brand new prices!!!) so I'd say you wouldn't save buying all the bits individually unless you get lucky, I missed one on here last week that sold for £90 :roll:
