Shimano 105 brakes

Can anyone tell me if shimano do a long reach rearer black 105 caliper or are they just a short drop in the black version.

    105 brakes are all short drop, if you want a long drop shimano brake in black have a look at the BR-R451. It's more Tiagra level if that bothers you but they are good solid brakes. There's the BR-R650 which is pretty much the same caliper in silver with better brake blocks, more 105 level finish. For what it's worth, this is the best price I've seen on them, inc. p&p

    Jomoj thanks for the reply.I knew there would be a shimano fan who knew his tech.New brakes for the training bike i think. :lol:

    You're welcome. They're good stoppers, better once you swap the pads for some cartridges.

    up! unbelievable what those cartridges did to my old 90's 105 'rubber only' brakes.

    I'm 90% certain the 650 and 450 are the same bits of metal but the 650 has a polished surface finish and the 450/1 are painted. My 450s had a silver metallic finish on them, nothing fancy but looked smart enough.
