Hi I have just bought a 2013 Giant Defy 2. It comes fitted with Shimano Tiagra :D groupset apart from the brakes which are Tektra TK-R312 :( My question is can I change just the brakes and if so will any Shimano Tiagra brakes or is there different types of Shimano Tiagra brakes for specific bike models? Sorry if questions make me sound stupid lol

You can but the concensus on here is that changing the brake pads is actually all you need to do.

If (like me) you prefer to have a complete group set matching then yes get the Tiagra.
    Yellow is the new Black.

Thanks for tip. Quite fancy having all Tiagra. Seen a set of Tiagra front and rear calipers model number BR-4400 for £40 brand new which sounds a good price.
  • Yes, the standard tiagra callipers should fit.

Ebay is for a pair and not each. Looks like ones at Ribble are each

Ribble's price is for a pair, I know, I got some. They'll also match your 2013 spec bike, but again you'll have to change the pads that come with them as they are, IMHO, not very good.
