Upgrading a Trek 1.2

Hi all
I'm looking into upgrading my Trek, I'm not sure whether it's worth it in certain areas so I thought I'd get a few more opinions. The bike is white with blue and black meaning I can't have a red components (I'm obsessive like that,) I don't mind a wee bit of other colours once it's not the main one. Seeing that I'm 15 I can't afford too expensive options and I've already put new tyres on it.
I was looking into second hand black Kysriums (for reliability,) but I'm afraid to buy online, eBay etc because I'm afraid that they'd arrive buckled etc despite the fact that they're Kysriums. Any other options?
Thanks a million

If you pay by Paypal and the wheels arrived 'buckled' then file a complaint through Paypal and you will get your money back as the items were not as described.
Experience would say that most people on this site describe items accurately.0 -
What wheels do you have on your Tek at the moment? Kyrsium may or may not be an upgrade depending on what you want from the new wheels, how you ride, type of riding you do e.t.c. Please do not assume that a more expensive wheelset is an upgrade.
I will define an upgrade as any components that meet the requirements of the user better than the old compnents. We do not know what your requirements are so it impossible to say what parts would be an upgrade. Are you looking for lower weight, stiffer components and you have issues with flex on exisiting ones, stronger compmemts as you break your current ones, better looking parts what exactly?

Oh right thank you
Novice mistake thanks
I'm not with a club or anything at the minute and I ride whenever I can. I'm getting more serious now and I'm going to join a club and start racing in the summer and am hoping to up the kilometres in my 'max' ride.
Everything bar the tyres, handlebar tape and pedals came on the bike at the minute.
The wheels are "Aluminium hubs w/Bontrager Approved aluminium rims," I was sorta looking for reliable, won't go out of true with the first pothole I hit by mistake, faster rolling wheels that'll up my average kph, no 'less stiff' and at the same time not rattle me to death.
With other components I'm not so sure, this is where the novice in me is coming outThere's 9-speed Sora shifters (ones with the button on side for shifting) and front derailleur, Tiagra rear derailleur, SRAM chain and cassette and an FSA Vero Crank. Then handlebar, stem etc is all Bontrager. I sort of guessed there would be obvious things to change to make it racier (which I failed to say in original post
) I'm not into spending relatively a load just to save 20grams etc, I'm more interested if I could save a load of weight on the one item or changing the shifter or something I guess. :?
I knew this forum was helpful but even better than I imagined :!: thanks guys0 -
if money's tight i wouldn't replace the gears or sti's till they wear out, get your money's worth because you won't notice a lot of difference.
I'd change the wheels for most bang for buck. Mrs K uses mavics (aksiums) when we're in Kerry so they can handle irish roadsWe've also had stuff sent from ribble and planet x to Irerland with no problem so keep an eye out there .

cool thanks
Nice I'll have a look
I'd take the dig on Irish roads as an insult only it's true
If you're ever getting stuff again from Planet X they've an Irish website and they ship from Westmeath I think if you're interestedplanetxireland.com
