Floor pump, help

I have a Specialized Floor pump and the rubber hose has come out of the valve head, can this be fixed or does it have to be sent back to Specialized for repair.

    looks like you just undo the collar and put it over the hose and re attach.

    Na i thought that but there is a thin metal washer that has to go around the hose and the two parts of the valve head screw together. but i cannot get the two parts together as you can see in the photos the plastic part ( photo 1)that goes inside the hose has a sloped piece to it and its impossible to get the hose with the washer on it to go over the thicker sloped piece.
