Has anyone here actually used Campag Athena 3x11?
I'm currently collecting parts for a new steel audax/light touring frame which should be built in March. Most of the spec is cast in concrete, but the last decision is whether to use 3x10 with a Shimano rear hub/cassette, or 11 speed Campag. Either way the bike is going to have a TA Carmina triple crankset with 48x36x26/25T rings and Campag Ultrashift ergo levers.
What I'd really like to know is how touchy setup is with the 11 speed triple front, and whether it is likely to matter if I use "10 speed compatible" chainrings. I am hoping the front shifter is basically friction(?), but I've seen nothing mentioned about this stuff since the original press release, although I see Wiggle has parts for sale.
If anyone can recommend a *quiet* Campag 11 compatible freehub that would also be helpful.
Any feedback from Athena triple users would be greatly appreciated!
