18 stoner, wanting to get back into the low teens stone range. Wanting a bike that'll go up but will be a blast downhill and will come with shocks and components that'll put up with my mass ...


Bikes thinking about - yeti sb66 or the the transition covert....

  • If you are looking at Yetis, your budget is pretty big. Wouldn't worry about your current weight - I would expect most bikes to be able to cope. The only thing you may want to look at is a stronger wheel set if you are hitting big drops.

    Most decent bikes will stand up to your weight when used as intended (so XC on an XC bike)....

    Budget and a bit more detail on intended usage would help....
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
