Anyone any feedback on dhb pads, some have suggested they are ok but can get better pad options

However these tick the box, soft fleecy inside roubaix, price etc.

Also what's size like?

I recently bought the 3/4 dhb Vaeon Roubaix Padded Bib and can't fault them apart from the thigh area being tight on my thighs. Other than that the fit and price with 12% code was brilliant
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

    Thanks
What size did you go for and what's your waist and leg measurement?

  • Don't expect much from the padding. I have shorts and longs for commuting and they wash their face for that (an hour each way, give or take) but when I go out on a longer ride they'd be my last choice.

They're warm enough, but I can understand you questioning size. I'm a large or even extra large in any other manufacturer's clothing, but somehow a medium in dhb. Like I'm going to buy them because I fit into a "smaller" size. The tactic may work for the ladies, but not me.

That having been said, great value and they do a job for me.

  • What I should also have said is the size chart on Wiggle is accurate, so you can trust it, even though it may show you being a size (or two) smaller than you'd normally buy.

+1, bought large and suit my height and width, straps are spot on for my torso.

  • the pad is pretty poor. the pad was better in my fake saxo bank gear from china

Are the pads really that bad?

Can you recommend other bib shorts with a fleecy inside like the roubaix?

The pad is quite good for the price IMO. One point though, its worth following the instructions and washing them before first use. I didn't and I had slight saddle sores after my first ride in them (3hrs). Have done several 3 hr + rides since with no problems. I guess there may be some chemical contamination from manufacturing that caused a skin reaction.

As for sizing, pretty much as the chart. I'm 5' 11", 33" waist, 70kg. Size L is good, fairly snug but long enough; but I could probably have got away with XL.

I bought some recently. The quality was good for the money, I found the real length about 2 inches too long compared to the values stated on the Wiggle height chart. The general fit and tightness was brands like Altura and Endura. They weren't tight at all compared to brands like Sportful, Castelli, Santini, Sugoi etc.

I've found mine generally pretty good. They are at the cheaper end of the market so don't expect Assos quality, but for the money they are perfectly good for day-to-day riding.

Sizing wise, I'd say go with your instinct rather than the sizing guide. It said I was an XS, but I went for a S which is still a bit on the tight side.

What is your height and waist size for reference.

I can't seem to find anything to match at £35+£20 for the bundle £55

    Hi
    Thanks for that
I'm 5ft8 and 34" waist so not sure if that will be a medium or large in the dhb stuff

I have found them pretty good, although yet to use for anything beyond 50 miles yet

I bought the leg warmers as well, these have split as the stitching has failed - pretty poor quality IMO as I have others without this issue.

    Send it back to wiggle

Which other leg warmers would you recommend?

The DHB Vaeons are, on the whole, not a patch on the Pace model they replaced. The pad isn't as nice, the fit is terrible and they don't seem to block the wind as well, particularly on the thigh. Build quality is questionable too.

I won't be buying any more DHB stuff from Wiggle it's been getting worse over the last few years. IME, it's just not the same performance:value it was when it first came out. Even for commuting kit, I'd rather spend a bit more money and buy something I trust.

I think they are very good for the money :)

Only comparison I have though is to some Biemme winter tights I have. The DHB pad is far superior to these IMO.

I've done a 10 hour ride in DHB Roubaix bibshorts, and they where great :)

Craft 3D knee warmers are excellent IME. They are a knitted type fabric rather than a roubaix lycra but do a great job at keeping your knee's warm. They don't bunch or gather when you ride and stay in place.

Recently bought the 3/4 version and they are brilliant, nice and warm with a very comfy pad, so far the build quality is also excellent.

As for sizing I'm a 30 inch waist, 6 foot high and a small fits perfectly.

I'm tempted by 3/4 too now
But like the flexible option of bib shorts and warmers as can use shorts all year round

Just checked ebay and has campagnolo bibs

The 3/4 have been brilliant this winter -5 to 10 degrees, they are great and comfy with a decent pad.

32 inch waist, 5'9 and a medium here.
