I have a Scott Addict 2009, 54cm frame, geometry here:

It fits me very well, with a reasonably aggressive position. (I wouldn't want to go much more aggressive than it is already as I've had some knee problems relating to aggressive set-ups in the past)

Looking to buy a Canyon ultimate CF SLX 8.0 http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3091

But I'm not sure on exact sizing, the canyon doesn't have 54, only S (53) or M (56) are the closest. Although M is a 56 I think it might be a better fit as it has a top tube length of 549, and the Scott has 550. The seat tube length for the 56 is 545, and my Scott has 540 for that, so the difference isn't huge. The S has seat tube length of 515 and top tube length of 537, which I think may be a bit too small. Overall I'm leaning towards the medium but I'm not certain...

Any thoughts?

Thanks

    Hi

What are your measurements - Height, inseam, torso ect. I have just ordered an slx and used their pps system. I am just under 5'10" (177cm) with an inseam of 32'1/4" (82cm) and it sized me up as needing a small frame. The spec of the frame is very similar to what I ride at the moment. Must admit, I do feel abit nervous about it.

  • I'm about 176cm, inseam around 80cm and it gave me a small frame size too, but as I wrote, the small frame size seems to differ quite a lot from my current frame size... the medium is much closer in the key measurements.

From what I have read somewhere, the Canyons do come up slightly bigger than most. Interestingly enough, an 83 inseam will bring up a medium size frame, so I am very close to that but have ordered a small anyway.

By the way, their pps measuring system seems to be all geared around the inseam stat and nothing else. Have a play around with it and see for yourself. Or it could just be me !!!!

I believe Canyon have a stand at this weekends bike show in London (excel centre I think); might be an opportunity to get your hands on one before you buy
