Shimano 5700 Shifters compatible with Tiagra Front Mech?

I'm putting together a spec for a new winter bike. I'd like to go for Shimano 105 (5700 series) shifters and pair it with a Shimano Tiagra (4600 series) front mech. Both are 10 speed. I've tried to look into this but now I'm just confused. Can anyone confirm that this will work OK? Thanks!

yep be fine....but its not a good idea to mix triple with double / compact.

As long as you keep to Shimano you can mix front and rear mechs from any of the ranges all you like, they simply move how far the sti tells them too. Mechs are dumb, they have no mind of their own :-)
