service tool kits

As per title, Just wondering if anyone could suggest a decent tool kit so that i can start learning the basics of stripping down and maintaing my roadbike please.

Any help would be appreciated as im clueless on what to get

  • That set looks pretty decent, definitely enough to cover the basics. Save the individual tools for more specific items I reckon.

  • I use this one from Chain Reaction. The Allen keys are pretty good too. The screwdrivers are awful. The rest is pretty good.

    I've used it strip my bottom bracket on mountain bike and road bike, change chain rings, remove cranks arms, change handlebars and stems etc.

    I also have
    Nice expensive set of t-handle Allen key sets by Facom.
    Screwdrivers by Stanley and Wera.
    Wire cutters.
    Cheap pair of £3 electrical crimpers for crimping cable ends.

    plus get yourself some decent screwdrivers and allen keys and you'll be away!
  • Well spotted on the Jobsworth toolkit from PlanetX. Its identical to the X-tools from Chain Reaction but cheaper by £7
