I have a big problem. My shifter was being repaired, so i removed the brake cable. Foolishly, the cable clamp bolt for the brake caliper was loose . So it shaked out, when riding my bike with one shifter.
I saw you could buy a replacement bolt, but it doesnt fit it is too small. I bought this: http://www.behindthebikeshed.co.uk/7580 ... plate.aspx
I have these brake calipers:

I think its the wrong bolt, as the bolt is only for rival/force not apex.
I was thinking of just buying another set of brakes: http://www.acycles.co.uk/sram-apex-fron ... -4300.html
It seems crazy that the brake is useless just because I lost a bolt.
I cannot see the bolt anywhere else.

Just a bit confused since you start talking about shifters then end up stating that it's the brake caliper pinch bolt that's missing.
If you don't mind the wait and possibly also the uncertainty there someone in the US offering a brake caliper pinch bolt on Ebay:-

My bad, I was just explaining why the bolt fell out. I bought the this bolt: http://www.behindthebikeshed.co.uk/7580 ... plate.aspx
My question is what will be the difference? The bolt i bought says it works for rival and force calipers.
The link you gave me is for the same bolt I bought. The part number is the same. I guess I will just have to buy a new set of brakes.
I have even checked the manual. the part numbers for the bolt correspond to what I have bought. So it is teh correct part. Now I wonder why it doesnt fit.0
