No way would I want to use one of them personally -- can you imagine going fast and then suddenly remember what surface you're running on? Or if it starts to rain when you're already out riding? Yikes.

Maybe if I lived somewhere that it never rained I might see the attraction to this, but I'd rather just shell out for a cheap tyre than ride on something that becomes an instant death trap as soon as I ride over a damp bit of tarmac!0

could always sprinkle some course sand into the top layer to act as a bit of a grip/ thread, as the silicone goes "off" the sand will be impregnated into silicone
id rather just buy a new tyre though....Keeping it classy since '830 -
