Might be a daft question but want to be sure.

I need a new front mech, currently I've got a 9speed drivetrain.

There doesn't seem to be a huge choice of 9 speed front mechs, will a 10 speed front mech be ok with everything else being 9 speed??

It would work, but there are loads of 9 speed mechs. Choice - pick a budget and buy one - it doesn't make much difference as long as it fits.

Main reason I asked was CRC seemed to have more 10 speed at better prices....but.....Merlin has come up trumps :) XTR 9spd front mech £57

Waste of money IMO. But it's not my money.

£57 for a front mech!!!!!!! My son just got an XT off CRC for £12.99 and I thought that was pricey!
