Ok, I know how to change a headset. I have a boardman pro carbon, with a fairly crap FSA headset in. My problem is I don't know how to identify which one to buy as a replacement(!) any advice on where to start? FWIW, the boardman site just says "ask Halfords" (no other contact info), and my local Halfords know jack...

    Read the info on Parktools.

    Does it have cups?

    Internal or external?

    Steerer size?

It's likely to be an Integrated headset, 45 degrees x 45 degrees, Campagnolo pattern. If you take the bearings into your LBS they should be able to help find a suitable replacement. There's also FSA's online tech guide but you need to have accurate bearing measurements.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Yeah - what the dude above said. Yeah. Pukka, innit. Headset, innit. Get a nice one. Grease it. Pukka. Mint. Sorted. Like a Golf, but not a Golf.

Cheers chaps, I'll check the bearing with the LBS. Looks like Monty is right, but I'll check with the LBS.
