not in Campag.
What ring do you have at the front?Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0 -
39-52T
The cassette is 9 speed, by the way.0 -
Change to a 34/50 on the frontYellow is the new Black.0

Interesting idea Smidsy, I can see that helping out on the hill climbs.
Is their any way I can keep the top gears ratio but also have a lower gear ratio for gear 1 ?0 -
You can get an 11/28 cassette. I doubt you will spin out on 50/11 and if you do you are a candidate for team Sky (in which case you would not need to post your original query). :-)
Also 50/11 is not too far off your current 52/13Yellow is the new Black.0 -
50/34 at the front means a new chainset, but it's your only realistic option without changing everything to Shimano.
50/11 is a considerably higher gear than 52/13 (and 50/12 is a bit higher), so you don't have to lose your top gear.0 -
Campag are bringing out a compact chainset with 52/36 rings (for 11 speed but should fit 10 speed) and a new 10-speed rear cassette 12/30. There may be some more options in those.0

Cenatur 12-30T cassette is the easiest option but you will need new shifters. You could also fit a Triple chainset. Lots of NOS stock of these and they are not too expensive certainly cheaper than a new compact chainset. Not too sure how a triple chainset will work with you 9speed shifters. Never had 9 speed campag shifters to try.
Buy a compact it is simpler.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -
Why would he need new shifters if it's a 10 speed Veloce group?0

Doh. Sorry, long day and not reading properly.
Is it a square taper BB?0 -
Yeah, square taper.0
-
A square taper Campag BB will have 'ISO' tapers, as opposed to Japanese JIS tapers used on Shimano etc.
As well as taper, the actual spindle length comes into it, which for a given manufacturer, can change for single, double or triple chain rings. But as you are going from double to compact, any similar era Campag square taper compact chain set should work fine.0 -

The triple was my solution. I have a Cannondale CAAD8 dressed in Campag veloce (next time I will ensure its Shimano or SRAM simply to increase options). I fitted a 52/39/30 triple and have a 13-29 on the back but next time I change the cassette I will revert to an 11-28. The triple works fine as long as you don't try silly chainlines (like 52/29) which work but make one hell of a racket! If I had the cash I would switch the whole lot to SRAM with 50/34 on the front and 11-32 on the back.
