As much as I want to blame Wiggle......

... I'm just not sure I can.
Just got some Santini H2O bibs from Wiggle. Lovely and comfy by the way. Pad is excellent and they do a stand-up job of keeping you dry when it's grim out.
Linky
I'm preparing for a flaming on this, but.... I wore them with a pair of regular baggies over the top, once, on a relatively short (50km) road ride. and they have started bobbling really badly already.
Is this my fault for wearing my shorts over the top of them? There was no velcro of anything pulling on them, it's literally just from the fabric of the shorts rubbing against the lycra.
I know it's a cardinal sin wearing baggies on a road bike, but in my defence, until I take delivery of my proper roady in a couple of months time, I'm riding a converted MTB anyway. FWIW, none of my other bibs have ever done this.
Is the bobbling just due to the fact they're fleece lined? Not had fleecy bibs before.
Is it likely to affect the waterproof (hydrophobic) coating? if so, it pretty much renders them useless.

i have had excellent service from wiggle - ordered bearings from an LBS only to be told end of jan delivery - so cancelled and got next day from Wigglehttp://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=3370a&r=3&c=5&u=M&g=p&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png

My DHB roubaix bib tights are probably 4 years old. Fleecy inside and extremely warm. The only bobbling seems to have been caused by the oddly placed stitching on the Spoon saddle I was using a year ago. Never worn anything over them though.0

If you hadnt worn your baggies over them - then nothing could have rubbed on them - so they couldnt have bobbled ?
Dunno about the water repellent properties but that would wear off soonish anyway I expect.
Just ride fast and nobody will see the bobbles?0 -
I'm not asred about people seeing the bobbles, just so long as they don't wear completely through within a couple of rides and leave people seeing MY bobbles. I was more concerned at how quickly they seem to have started wearing just from having shorts over the top of them.
I'd not be expecting the water repellant properties to wear off too soon either if I'm honest.0 -
Wiggle didn't put any Haribo in with the jerseys I received today.
I'm more than willing to blame them for that.0 -

Bought a set of Brake blocks from wiggle and they sent me my bag of Haribo.
I think the packers must be on a post Xmas cutting down so they're sending them out.0
