I'm looking for a new road bike (N+1). Top of my list is currently a Canyon Ultimate SLX 8.0 and adding DA 9000 C35 CL Wheelset.

Open to other suggestions but I haven't seen anything that comes close in terms of value for money? Budget is up to £4k including wheelset.

Which road bike would you buy with 4k?

Comments

  • That's what I'd get if I had that sort of budget.
  • I would go for the CF SLX 9.0 as I think the wheels look nicer than the C35's

In fact that's what I have gone for 8)

ETA a decent set of pedals, bottle holders and an Adrian Timmis bike fit and that' the 4k spent :)

  • I,ve ordered myself a 7.0 Di2 & I can't wait till March comes (delivery date week 11)!

Like you said the value for money on these machines is just second to none, and reading the reviews so far it ain't bad either.

So, I would do what you've already planned, get the bike & use the extra budget on upgrades - wheels, saddles, pedals etc!

I've already got myself a pair of Rotor 3D+ cranks & Fizik Arione Carbon braided saddle ready to put on mine when it arrives. ;-)

    Cheers

All 3 replies so far suggesting the SLX. Wasn't expecting that tbh!

Looking at other DA 9000 equipped '13 bikes, besides the Canyon their seems to be very little else available for less than 7k

I did consider the Cube litening at £3700 but you don't get the good wheels for that money.
