hi, im looking for a new ride to replace my cannondale and looking at Colnago but they only seem to come built with shimano groupsets. is there anywhere that builds the frames up with other groupsets than shimano? i know i can buy the frame and groupset seperatley but always turns out more expensive.

thanks

Quick Google came up with this offering:-

Not sure what your budget is but give Biketart a call to see if they can source other Campag kitted models

Maestro in Bognor Regis will build you a Colnago to any spec - cheaper than any of the "official" dealers too

Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    You could try De Ver.
Maurice was very helpful when I was shopping for my last bike.

I ultimately went for a bike from Ronde in Edinburgh based purely on location.

None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Did you get the Master from there? What were they like to deal with?

No. I got the Fratello from Ronde. I got the Master from Dooleys as they were the only official dealer in Scotland at the time (Ronde are too now).
Dooley's service was patchy. First guy (in the family) was superb but was on holiday when the frame came in and some of my components had been sold on in his absence. Not good.
Ronde, on the other hand were superb. Brilliant service and came up with an attractively priced package. Beware walking in shop though - there is sooooo much to attract the attention of your credit card.

  • thanks for your useful replies, i will certainly contact meastro and de ver early in the new year.

im looking at either the ace or clx3.0. As mentioned i have a bike already but looking to upgrade for the etape in july and use it for sportives aswell. what frame would you recommend?

a limiting factor for me is that i need to buy it on finance so that may limit my options as where to buy it.
