Mudguards which are easy to install, easy on and off?

Are there any good mudguards which are easy to install without taking ages or require cutting, drilling like some reviews I read?

Has your bike got eyelets for mudguards?

If not then Crud Roadracer 2's are where you need to go. Some will say they are fiddly but in my case once fitted they are fine and no cutting or drilling was necessary.

All depends on your bike and tyres though as some race bikes have very tight clearances.

Nice slim fitting.

Not sure on eyelets. If so are the ones with easier to install with an attachment point?

Bikes that have eyelets means thear are designed to have the extras bolted to them so there is generally much more clearance meaning you can fit a much wider choice of stuff.

Full metal mudguards will offer the best protection and poper eyelet fittted ones are less likely to rattle around.

Easy enough to know if you have eyelets as you will have little lugs with holes welded onto the forks and rear stays ready for fixings to bolt through.

Another option to consider are the SKS Raceblade Long Mudguards.

They are specially designed for bikes with no eyelets - the mudguard support rods are connected to a bracket that fits over the QR spindle and is held in place when the QR is locked.

They have recently modified their design (see this thread - viewtopic.php?f=40042&t=12873464)

A word of caution though as some retailers may still have stock of the old design. For peace of mind Bike Discount (http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/a55505 ... =GBP&cn=gb) appear to be up to speed with the new version and have received plaudits from posters on this issue.

I have these fitted to by bike and did have to cut them on the rear mudguard just had to take a bit off where it comes down by the bottom bracket, but easily cut with a hack saw, depends on size of your bike. I have had no issuses with them since they have been fitted but am purchasing some new ones for my new bike and i am going for the sks long mudguards has it is easier to remove and fit these when we get some dry weather

Have no eyelets so think the crud mk2 are favoured choice

I found that the SKS ones were easier than the cruds to put on and take off.

wouldnt think about takin the crud mk2 off easier leave them on!!! imo
