Hi I'm new to road cycling I have a giant defy 4 2012 and I have found that where the forks meet the frame underneath it is filled with road dirt the roads wer wet the other day and it seems all the dirt collects quite badly here. Is the solution to pack it full of the correct grease ?

Thanks for any help
When i die I just hope the wife doesn't sell my stuff for what I told her I paid for it other wise someone will be getting a mega deal!!!

Soft pipe cleaner type brush, Look similar to the thing you clean a camelbak out with, If you go in Halfords they ll be a generic soft brush kit.

One will be long and thin (the one you want) the other will be squarish shape with a gap (to go around tube profiles) and the other will be thin and crescent shaped with a plastic toothed arch on the handle for getting into free wheel cogs,

You can also get a bung for the bottom of fork crown to stop gunk getting in.

Alternatively just clean it out regular ly by taking the wheel out and poking a soft cloth down.

The dedicated mudgaurds for the defy are spot on and would save you a lot of cleaning grief this time of year.
