There's a review for £50 helmets in one of the cycling magazines at the mo

Can't remember top 3 choices though, worth a look

Best to try some on. Everyone has different shaped heads so what's good for someone else might not suit you. Don't think you can go far wrong at that price point if you go for a good brand.

Kask Mojito looks and feels good for the money
  • I am very happy with my Kask k50 evo - light, easy to adjust and well ventilated without too much of the mushroom effect. There's are review here (but unlike the reviewer I didn't get a storage bag with mine): http://road.cc/content/review/25853-kask-k-50-helmet
  • I've got one of these and love it...

If you know your size and don't mind ordering on line, check out Ribble cycles who have a 25% discount on most helmets at the moment.

Where is that for sale in the £50-80 range? I'd love to buy one but I've rarely seen them reduced at all, and even if they are it's by £5 or so max which puts still puts them at ~£95.

If you look around you can get a Giro Monza (delivered) for under £50. I did a couple of weeks ago and I think it's a great buy at that price.

You have to try some out - what fits and looks good on one person, will hurt and look ridiculous on another. They all conform to the same safety standards in Europe (which is pretty low).
