Advice on my brakes

Hi guys,

I bought a 2nd hand road bike last year and the brake pads are worn down so I need to replace them. Thing is, I'm not too sure what I should be buying when I'm looking on the likes of wiggle, chain reaction etc!

My bike is fitted with Shimano BR-4400 (Tiagra) - see here:

I want to try and fit some better brake pads as the stock Shimano ones are pretty dire in the wet! I've heard positive things about Swiss-Stop. Which ones from the following link would work with my brakes? Do I need to buy the shoe and pad, or just a pad?

    You need to get the shoe and pad kit. This also makes it easier for future pad changes as you just will need to get a Shimano compatible pad. Provided you have rims with an alu brake track the SwissStop FlashPro Green pad/cartridge will be about the best you can get. Good stopping power in wet and dry and are less abrasive on your rims particularly in the wet. Koolstop Salmons are another good option for the same reasons. These will wear faster than your OEM Tiagra pads and cost a little more but well worth it. Big difference in stopping power.

    Thanks for the advice, my wheels are Shimano WHR-500 so they should be fine - I'll look into those other pads you recommend too!
