Howdo,
Id like to get my TT bike painted for the new season, early bells I know but it gives me time to sort it out.
Its crabon so Im after someone who's bike specific rather than automotive guys, (they're paint weighs a ton)
Have you had your carbon frame resprayed? If so, who do you recommend?
Thanks.

A mate had his Look carbon frame resprayed by Argos (not the catalogue folk!) and it looked very good. It wasn't cheap, but they did arrange for a courier to pick up and deliver the frame.0

Any idea what he paid?
Im not after any air brushing Just boring old black, if you could see my bike you'd see why. :shock:Rock 'n' Roule0 -
I think it was about £300 or just over, and that included Look transfers. Apparently carbon has to be prepared by hand, no shot blasting, hence the cost. This was about 2 years ago.0

Supergoose,
I'm disappointed in you. Stick with the pink man, stick with it!

Ha! I knew I recognised that username! Caught!
It looks positively fuchsia in this pic.
I do like it but I yearn for a stealthy black machine.

Looks brilliant...
And if someone runs you over, you'll know it was deliberate0 -
I did read your 1st post I promise I did but either a) D.I.Y it ain't that difficult. or b) take it to any car body shop.
Unless someone knows other wise I'd bet it's just cheap automotive paint that it's painted in now. It's not going to take litres to cover that. Especially if you want it matte black.0 -
diy its very easy to be honest and plenty of guides on the net. If not as said above go to a car bodyshop and get them to do it although I would prep it yourself as they wont realise how delicate it is.0

Yep to this ^
Strip bike down to frame and fork, then with some wet and dry sandpaper of P800 grit, wet sand the frame evenly. Then using panel wipe, clean frame. Mask up any holes that you don't want to be hit with overspray.
Hang frame with coat hanger in warm dry well lit room or garage.
Clean again with panned wipe, then clean with a tack cloth. Apply 2-3 coats of colour. Then 2-3 coats of clear coat. Once dry can sand any imperfections with P1200 wet and dry, and then polish carefully using G3 polish.
Or £200 maybe less i dunno and get your local body shop to do it.0 -

He bought it from me, displaying what I consider to be impeccable good taste.
I bought it because the prospect of being flattened by a car on various TT courses has limited appeal and I wanted to be visible...0 -
