BB confusion

Right I got myself a frame upgrade with a Shimano Integrated Press Fit bottom bracket (BB86). My LBS swapped over all my old Ultegra 6600 bits n' bobs but I wanted to upgrade the crank. I was looking at a SRAM red, but I'm not sure if either the BB30 or GXP models are compatible - any ideas very much appreciated :?

You guessed correct it is a Shimano standard so any Shimano crankset."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Cheers Nick - so that rules out all SRAM cranks unless I swap out the Press Fit bottom bracket ?0

well this is where it gets fun.
you will need to measure your frame and read up on the specs on Srams and Shimanos webby (or parktools) and see what will fit.
but new bearings and your current cranks will fit and work. BB30 will not. a GXP may."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

What's the difference between SRAM GXP and Shimano Hollowtech2/BB86 ? They both have 24 mm shafts. Can a GXP chainset be used in a Shimano Hollowtech2/BB86 bottom bracket ?0

Hope and others do conversion top hats for their own BBs."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

FWIW you'll need a SRAM Red GXP chainset to use with your frame - BB30 simply won't fit.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
