Some kind of Cree LED type thing from Dealextreme (or ebay) will get you a lot more light for about £30. Look up XM-L T6 for example.
  • Nice one will look them up, its only for xmas pressies list for my relatives to buy hehe
Thx or info will check ebay

The moon x-power 300 is in this comparison if you want to see how it stacks up against the competition:

Cree isn't a model, just a manufacturer of LED's. The Cree XML T6 and XML U2 are currently the brightest LED's you can get for a bike light (typically around 1000 lumens if driven around the 2.5 amp mark). You can pick up torches built around them for less than a tenner.
  • For unlit roads I'd say 300 lumens is about the minimum you want. My old Exposure Joystick is 240 (I think) and does a pretty good job up to about 20mph. If I was riding regularly in unlit country roads though I'd want something with more.
  • Hi thx for info have added that light from wiggle as seems ok and ebay had way too many choices,
looking for more cycle gifts now hehe
