Trek 1000 alpha new handelbar...how!?

Welcome all here ...due im a newbie and thats my first post.
I couldnt find the answer here for my question but maybe i missed something so if this was here before please be polite
I just bought second hand Trek 1000 Alpha.
I want to change handelbars - the reason why to have the slighlty higher. Due that is the old type - "all in one".
Im wondering (correct me please) to "build/replace" old for new handelbars i need separate: quill steam, steam and handelbars??? or simplier will be buy new fork?!
I will be very appreciate for all help ...thanks!

If you have a quill stem and you want the bars higher, all you need to do is to undo the Allen bolt at the top, rise the stem to height you require (check the limit) and tighten the bolt again
