Hi,

It seems one of the lucrative ad servers that you use is having trouble serving requests.
Navigating the forum has been painful for the last 2-3 days at times.

Quite funny as they claim that "...Switch Adserver is quite simply the fastest and most accurate adserver."
Well, maybe not.

Yeah, same here.
Click on any link, you get the bike radar logo and then "waiting for delivery.platform.switchads.com" for 2-3 minutes.

Me too. Taking ages for pages to load. What's going on?

Looking at it a bit further, the hostname resolves to 2 IPs so thought maybe that just one of the servers is duff, but a quick packet trace shows both servers hanging.

Is anyone looking at this as the problem still exists?
It seems to be an issue at this kind of time of day, it's generally ok during the daytime.

We've spoken to Switch today about this problem please find some further details surrounding the outage some of you may have experienced on the 4th April:


In the outage at around 9pm on the 4th April, Switch had a cluster of servers affected by the power failure of a third party which led to us serving blanks for around 2hrs. Once alerted of the outage the team worked quickly to restore adserving and normal service. They take this occurrence extremely seriously and they will be developing their stack further to help prevent a recurrence of this problem.
