I have been looking to upgrade by 8 year old Giant TCR want to get the bike from the local shop which carries Giant and Scott. I am leaning toward to the Foil 15 with the Di2 shifting. However, I am concerned about the comfort of the Foil. My usual rides are hilly lunchtime rides with four other bikers avg. 20 -22 MPH. The rides avg. 15 miles, but we have a great job and get out for 30-45 mile rides once a week. I am the oldest (55)guy on the ride and need every advantage to keep up with the youngest (40) fastest guy and can use every advantage I can get. And yes, I plan to lose that 10 lbs this winter.

Thanks

Naturally I'm going to suggest the Foil, but I should mention I haven't ridden the Giant.

As far as comfort is concerned, I find it as comfortable as can be. I've done a 12hr TT, 200km audaxes, and a few other centuries with no problem. I should mention that the geometry is quite aggressive, so you may want to have a sit or ride on first if you're used to an upright position.

'Hilly lunch time rides at 20-22mph 55 years of age and looking to lose 10lbs' - ride what you like at those speeds!

Post the links with the hills - it's pantomime season!
