Hi all. Before I make the leap of faith from PC to Mac I just wanted to know wether my Garmin 880/Garmin connect & my Tacx Fortius (trainer 4 software) will work with the Mac or not? I understand I'll have to get a Mac with a good graphics card for the Tacx software. Thanks

  • I use my Garmin Edge 800 and Garmin Connect on an iMac - I don't know about the Tacx

    Ok. Insert compatibility :-)
  • I have a Tacx turbo, and the manuals say that the software is PC only. It shouldn't be a problem though - I use VMware Fusion on my Mac to run a Windows OS environment - use it for Memory Map at the moment & the same thing in work for Windows only systems.

I do intend to get the software at some point, but to be honest I am just using Sufferfest & You tube videos at the moment.
  • Your best bet to run anything above TTS2 on a mac is to dual boot it into Windows 7, not XP as TTS3 and up require a 64bit setup I believe. I have used the Fortius and TTS2 software on a standard Windows 7 install on my mac, and it performed pretty well. I'll be getting TTS3.5 as soon as I get my Bushido up and running.

Keep the PC for your bike
Buy a MAC for everything else, including Garmin.
