Hi All,

I'm in the market for a decent pair of Carbon road shoes and have come across these two:

2013 Specialized S Works BG comp at £240 or

Bont Vaypor at a similar price. I can also get the 2012 S Works for £149 which seems to be a really good deal.

The 2012 S Works got great reviews and the newer ones are meant to be even better. The Bont shoes also seem to be a good quality shoe and many Pro riders seem to wear them.

Anyone have either of these shoes that can comment on comfort, durability etc etc??

Many Thanks

I've got the Fizik R1's myself, but I had a pair of S-Works, and they were great!
  • I have owned a more humble set of BG comp shoes, with carbon sole for a few years (they were 100 pounds RRP in 2007) and they are excellent...

  • Blimey, if only my salary went up by that % rate in just 5 years!

Two votes for the S Works then......they do look pretty sweet!

They were not the S-Works, but the Specialized BG comp

We're talking about shoes here - you really need to try them for fit. Try them both on and see which are the best. No amount of people saying shoe X fits best will make it fit you.

I have 09 and 2011 s-works and happy with them (think the 2011 and 12 ones are the same, the uppers are more supple than the 09's). I'll probably get 2013 ones for 'best' and don't see much reason to look at other brands. The Bont's seem a bit hit and miss in reviews from what I've seen.
  • Thanks for all the replies guys. I've decided that the S Works seem to be the shoe of choice and also fit comfortably without having to throw them in the oven!
I will of course try them on first though.

    Now, white or black.....decisions decisions!

I'll vote for the Bonts although to be fair I've never tried the S-Works.

I find the Bonts brilliant. Super stiff and super comfy.

I also use Giro Factors that are another brilliant shoe that are worth looking at.

Which ever fit best. Bonts are very hard, I had to sell mine.

  • Evans have the DMT Prisma 2.0 at £150 down from £225.

I've had them a month now and really pleased.

    Hi there,

I have a pair of Bont Vapour's. They are superb shoes, very stiff. They don't feel too comfortable off the bike but once clipped in you barely notice you have shoes on, they are that light and comfortable.
