Sizing Dilemma

Hello All,

I want to buy a Ridley Orion.
The problem is, I am between sizes in their bikes.

The right fit for me is with the effective top tube (ETT) of 53.5

Ridley's XS is 52.5, the Small is 54.5

Would it be better to go with a XS and put a longer stem on it, or with a Small with a shorter stem

I usually ride 30 miles with flats and some pretty steep hills.

Thanks in advance

  • Hopefully this will help you. I am just over 5' 8" tall with a 30" inside leg. My arm span is 5' 10" so I have a long reach. I have the XS, which as you say is 52.5 cm in the Orion, with a 100mm stem, which is a great fit for me.

You haven't provided your measurements, so I can't speak for you, but my experience of trying both sizes in this bike is to go down a size. I had a proper bike fit with mine, so I know it's right.

Lovely frame by the way, you won't be disappointed, fantastic for the money.
