Floor pump

I had my first flat tyre this morning when I was half way round my intended route, when I got home I checked the inner tube but the valve seemed to be faulty. So anyway I replaced the inner tube and tried inflate the new one with my new Airace floor pump, but struggled and think I have bent the presta valve, and maybe thats what caused the other one to fail. The pump was cheapish from amazon and I do struggle with it, so can someone recommend another floor pump? I want one that works consistently and will pay what it takes, but obviously dont want to spend more than I have too. I have a Giant Defy road bike and have done around 500 miles on it over the past couple of months. Thanks for any advice.

Lezyne Classic. Its awsome, screw on chuck, never ever ever bleeds air at high pressures. Looks good too with wooden handle. Bit pricey though around £60. I will never use anything else now and ive tried Park Tools and Joe Blows etc

+1 for Lezyne Classic0

Lezyne steel floord drive, absolutely superb piece engineering, does job very well----high pressures easily achieved and high volume ---even pumped up my car tyre with it in emergency !!0

If you want something cheaper, I've been using the Bontrager Charger for two years and it is superb. Think they can he had for £20 online.0

I agree, the Lezyne stuff is very well designed, but almost all of their stuff is needlessly expensive. You can get a perfectly serviceable track pump that will last a decade for less than half the price of that Lezyne. I've been using my £20 Topeak Joeblow for ~10 years now and it's still just as good as the day I got it.0

I bought a Lezyne Steel Floor Drive from the Giant shop where I bought my Giant Defy a month ago. It was £40, and the guy recommended it above the Giant branded one they also carried.
Having used a couple with the fold-over press on-type attachment, the screw-on chuck is just brilliant - only needs to be screwed on lightly, seals well, and once you're done pumping, there's a little button on the chuck which releases the air in the line, allowing the chuck to unscrew very easily without letting any air out of the tyre. The chuck is reversible so it works for Schrader valves too.
Works well for me.Is the gorilla tired yet?0 -
look upon a track pump as an investment, buy a decent one and it should last you ages.0

If you are on a tight budget the cheap Joeblow models will do the job. I bought one and it has lasted about 8 years albeit it has now been retired as it was falling to bits. Still, for about £20, it owes me absolutely nothing. The more expensive models look well made and work very effectively. Having said that, I treated myself to a Lezyne cnc model which looks like it will easily outlast me!!

I've got a Specialized Air Tool which has lasted me ten years and is still going strong. Fantastic pump.0
